I moved to Las Vegas the day after hooding and I’ve been living here since–and not in a hotel! For the first 12 years after law school, I worked in-house for Mirage Resorts and Boyd Gaming, handling mostly employment litigation and labor matters, including a couple of really fun strikes. Since then I’ve been teaching law, labor relations, and risk management in the College of Hotel Administration at UNLV.
Kathy and I were married in 2007. She’s an RN working for United Healthcare. Our oldest Jon-Paul (19) just finished his freshman year at UNR and Nick (18) will start at Cal Poly in the fall. Bobby (17) will be a senior (and place kicker) at Bishop Gorman HS and Joe (16) will be a junior at Palo Verde HS, playing trumpet in the marching band. Little “Phonsie” (Alphonse, 4) was an improbable but wonderful and surprise — a chance to do it all one more time. He starts kindergarten in the fall.
We spend a lot of our free time fishing and hiking in southern Utah, where we plan to retire some far off day in a very quiet place.
